Leather Lane
The extension and remodelling of a run-down Victorian building to create an elegant and balanced development of six flats and two retail units in Leather Lane, Clerkenwell.
Tailor Shop & Flats
Comprehensive refurbishment, extension and restoration of a 1765 Grade II Listed property in Camden’s Bloomsbury Conservation Area, for a bespoke tailor’s shop with flats above.
The project consolidates, preserves and restores the listed fabric enhancing the building’s long-term conservation and reinforcing the street’s historic use-pattern of “living above the shop” by expanding the tailoring into the basement and adding a contemporary 2-storey rear extension; as well as creating two high-value new residential units in the upper floors.
living stratum
Extensive refurbishment comprising of a split section to the rear. This sectional arrangement was utilised to develop a concept of a geological strata linking all spaces to the rear with its uniform and consistent finish. The strata forms a raised terrace, a kitchen, floor, wall and ceiling and a metal clad central stair element pierces through forming circulation between the levels and spaces.

Connecting the existing house, pavilions and...

raised ground - floor
A detached two storey house is split into two flats, each occupying a single level within the building and each occupying half of the rear garden. This results in a garden that is seldom used, overgrown and which does not provide a great aspect for our client on the ground floor.
In order to improve both the internal and external experiences, the portion of ground owned by our client is raised and becomes the floor of the living/dining space and an external terrace. This raised ground floor becomes an...
