E2 have recently been appointed conservation architect for Morden College.
Grade I Listed Morden College was built between 1695 and 1700 by the mason Edward Strong, one of Sir Christopher Wren’s favourite builders. Sir John Morden was on the Greenwich Hospital Commission with Wren, so it is more than likely that Wren designed the building, although there is no proof. It is indeed one of the best dozen or so of examples of his style in domestic as against representational architecture.
The college, comprised of 40 apartments framing a quadrangle, with a Chapel on the east side opposite the main entrance, is set in gracious grounds.
