'MEANINGFUL DESIGN IS THE KEY TO ANY SUCCESS STORY?'

The initial premise and constant guiding principle of the studio is simple: to produce spaces and places which do not necessarily showcase a design style or gimmick, but explore the site and the Client's initial intentions through good design. We maintain that every and any new commission, of whatever size or scale, can be made beautiful, exceptional and interesting. To achieve this, however, requires the support of Clients and Patrons who themselves wish for an inventive solution.

Throughout the design process, a close dialogue with the Client is maintained, especially during the early, somewhat conceptual, design stages. All commissions are developed through an exploration of materials and textures. A design process driven from an interrogation of a limited palette of colours and materials [occasionally due to time and cost constraints in small commissions], has become a specialism in all Office Sian built work. We endeavour to continue in this manner.

Through the design and architecture that we produce at Office Sian, we're not trying to show-case ourselves. Indeed we're not trying to produce spaces that we can 'see' ourselves in. We're not even trying to produce spaces in which the Client can merely see themselves. We're trying to produce spaces in which the Client can see the best of themselves.
