Malaspina Masterplan Competition ? First Prize
A new living identity: Glamorous Green Living
The proposed design seeks to stimulate a new sensitivity to agriculture, preferring ecological progressive policies, defending biodiversity and local specificity.
Imagining an alternative and unconventional urban lifestyle that combines city density, services and technology to the principles of a healthy life immersed in nature, an equipped nature that can be experienced and enjoyed by its inhabitants. A place to live in green.
Plurality as a Value
The masterplan reinterprets the urban Milan city block by translating it into a new reality like the traditionally agricultural area of...
30 Cleveland Street
Refurbishment of an eight storey Art Deco building in Fitzrovia to provide characterful office space
City Suites, Chapel Street
The essence of the design brief was to generate a landmark building for Select Property Group in the heart of Greater Manchester, with residences offering a high quality, vibrant, inner city lifestyle.
25 Watling Street
MOCT Studio transform anonymous office building in historic quarter of the City with series of selective interventions to create a new layer of texture and materiality.
Thirty Broadwick
Thirty Broadwick replaces a large unattractive building taking up a block in the heart of Soho. Emrys’s task was to nestle a new 120,000 sq ft building into the mixed urban context without being overbearing. Emrys broke down the main facades into component parts, employing a palette of materials characteristic of the conservation area but applied in a contemporary manner. One section of the façade to Broadwick Street is formed in two distinct parts, the predominant section is in roman brick with Portland stone detailing with a second part clad...
The Print Rooms
A rooftop and 5 storey side extension, as well as complete internal refurbishment, of a serviced office building in Southwark.
Tailor Shop & Flats
Comprehensive refurbishment, extension and restoration of a 1765 Grade II Listed property in Camden’s Bloomsbury Conservation Area, for a bespoke tailor’s shop with flats above.
The project consolidates, preserves and restores the listed fabric enhancing the building’s long-term conservation and reinforcing the street’s historic use-pattern of “living above the shop” by expanding the tailoring into the basement and adding a contemporary 2-storey rear extension; as well as creating two high-value new residential units in the upper floors.
Unilever HQ
Unilever’s UK headquarters is in Leatherhead in Surrey in a building we designed for them around 10 years ago.
Occupying a former industrial brownfield site, the design of the 204,000 sq ft office complex required a sensitive and sustainable approach which acknowledged the adjacent green belt. The three-storey office building is set over a podium deck which, by utilising the existing topography on the site, has allowed the required car parking provision to be largely concealed.
20 North Audley Street
This high-end office refurbishment has repositioned the building with a ‘residential’ feel reception, large new entrance and striking CAT A floors.
Thames Tower
The redevelopment of this tired 1970s building next to Reading station has created an elegant new landmark for the town centre. We stripped the building back to its frame, added four storeys and squared off the chamfered corners, a technically challenging process which required the integration of architecture and structural engineering design.
Golders Green Crematorium
Contemporary 2-storey brick extension to provide additional office space for a Grade II Listed Crematorium, drawing on the inspiration of the surrounding buildings and using geometric symbology and contrasting brick motifs to form a contemporary addition to a heritage site.
25 Charterhouse Square
Global marketing agency Anomaly appointed Barr Gazetas to design their new offices which occupy the 5th and 6th floor at 25 Charterhouse Square.
