Key People

ROBERT DYE
Robert worked with the renowed architect Sir James Stirling for eight years, during which time he designed and built major public facilities in the UK and the USA. He then worked shaping the future of London Docklands with Fred Koetter (Koetter Kim), before establishing Robert Dye Architects.

Robert has taught and lectured extensively in Architecture and Urban Design, both in the UK and the US and has been external examiner in Architecture at University College London.

Robert ran an Urban Design Masters Unit at the Bartlett School of Architecture (University College London) helping found this new programme in the Landscape Faculty before it transferred to the architecture school. He continued for eleven years and was joined by Jason for five of these during which time they researched together with their unit cities such as London, Los Angeles, Istanbul, Athens & Hong Kong. Students were explicitly encouraged to explore the unexpected and come up with innovative proposals.

JASON COLEMAN
After a career as freelance musician, Jason converted to architecture and left Canada to work for Engel & Zilich in Berlin where he focused on large scale housing developments immediately following the German re-unification. Upon moving to London, he joined Robert’s practice 16 years ago.

Jason has taught Architecture at the University of East London where his unit specialized in bottom-up development, and, like Robert, has been visiting critic in several architecture schools in North- America.
