Fiona Scott and Jay Gort:
Jay Gort
Jay Gort MA (Cantab), Dip Arch (Cantab) first took a foundation course in sculpture before studying architecture at Cambridge University. He has taught at Cambridge University since 2003 where he was appointed a Design Fellow in 2007. Jay is also a Design Surgeon and Urban Design London.
Before founding Gort Scott, Jay was Associate Director at architecture and urban design practice 5th Studio, and worked on projects including The Wolfson Building at Trinity College, Cambridge, a masterplan for South Cambridge and a number of substantial private homes.
Fiona Scott
Fiona Scott MA (Cantab), MA (RCA), RIBA studied architecture at Cambridge University and the Royal College of Art. She has taught and lectured at various architecture schools, including Cambridge University and the London Metropolitan University. Fiona was appointed to the Mayors Design Advisory Group in 2013. She was also an Urban Design Scholar and Design Advisor in 2009 for Design for London.
Fiona was previously Project Architect at Adjaye Associates where she contributed to projects including the Nobel Peace Centre in Oslo, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver and 77e77: A House for a Collector in New York. She has also worked at MVRDV in Rotterdam and DSDHA in London.

Experience
Gort Scott was founded by Jay Gort and Fiona Scott in 2007 after meeting at Cambridge University and has quickly become a leading young architectural practice known for their expertise in working within the complex urban environment.
Gort Scott’s founding principle of making a positive, imaginative and considered contribution to the built environment has seen them design a portfolio of projects ranging from leisure, retail, education, cultural and residential buildings to urban masterplans.
Gort Scott’s work draws on a commitment to direct relationships with clients and in depth consultation to draw value from existing contexts and create innovative design solutions. Their experience of the planning process and informed use of technology and materials has led to repeat commissions from clients and their designs winning numerous competitions.
Gort Scott is a RIBA chartered practice and offers a range of services from design consultancy to detailed design and full project management.
