‘A design of contrasts – light & dark, old & new, closed and open’

As Interior Architects on this project our challenge is in drawing together a series of varied and once unconnected spaces into a holistic design. Our concept takes cues from the existing listed buildings on site to re-invent the traditional panel, the jib door, the anteroom and the courtyard – contrasting these with the re-instated listed structures.

Our aim is to create a series of spaces which read as one but retain a unique look and feel; to create a varied journey through the building. Each space works hard – often with a dual function – opening and closing various elements dependent on its use, or the time of day. This project is about maximising the potential of each and every space – flexible, functional but equally beautiful.

From initial sketch design, through models, samples and computer renders we have followed the scheme from concept to completion. Our role has encompassed design of all bespoke joinery from bar design to wall panelling and we have been fortunate to be involved in subjects as broad as the hotels branding to those as detailed as the design of the room number.
