SODA. has recently lodged a planning application for the substantial remodelling of three adjacent buildings on a corner-plot of central London. Our proposals seek the full-scale renovation and refurbishment of four floors of office space, the creation of a new statement retail and restaurant shell at ground floor and a striking rooftop extension - all facilitated by strategically remodelling a number of internal lightwells.Floor slabs will be structurally supported from the newly proposed core, allowing two existing cores to be removed - and creating more rational and efficient floorplates whilst maximising ground floor space and increasingly valuable shop-frontage at street level.
Plant space on the roof will be relocated to allow a sculptural roof extension to be inserted. The folded CLT roof has been informed by the maximum Rights of Light envelope and aims to create a striking silhouette against the night sky.
