The project was won in an invited competition in 2006 for the fashion/art photographer Rankin.A Conversion and extension, including two extra floors, of a 1950’s warehouse into photographic studio, offices and productions facilities, 12 flats for sale and owner/occupier penthouse.
Sustainability was an important issue with 7% of the total energy requirements for the whole building being provided by Solar thermal and Photovoltaic panels. Other environmental responses include a central boiler, green roofs and grey water.
The building achieved a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating
The project was a Retrofit Awards Finalist in 2010
