Common Ground Workshop have been commissioned to design two restaurant units in the prestigious Embassy Gardens development by Ballymore, located adjacent to Battersea power station and the new American Embassy building.
Each unit will create a unique offer and enliven the recently completed public realm, and will help to mark out the development as a destination in the rapidly changing context of Lambeth.
Our team developed an interior shop concept for Burro e Salvia ‘pastificio’ (fresh pasta shop) in London.
The design responds to the challenge of creating a domestic yet contemporary atmosphere.
The front of the commercial unit houses the retail component of the business and the rear is dedicated to the eating and testing of the fresh pasta products prepared on the premises.
A section of the slab in the rear room was removed allowing natural light to shine through, enhancing the quality of the space, and creating a double height feature space.
We have recently completed the design and implementation of the Anya Hindmarch store in Bicester Village. Working closely with the client, who had active participation in the design, We provided concept design, detailed design and project management services. The concept design provided a simple, flexible showcase for the highly sought after product. Detailing and choice of materials gave an understated luxury.
This project will see three adjacent buildings on a vibrant corner of Soho remodelled to create new restaurant and retail space at ground level, upgraded workspaces across four floors and an additional sculptural rooftop level.
The site occupies a corner position at the junction of Stockbridge Road and Stoney Lane, where a former petrol station and car showroom have made way for a new mixed use development including a foodstore, a twelve consultant medical practice, four individual shop units, seven residential units and parking for 191 cars.
Marks & Spencer Foodhall anchors Cradle Bride Retail Park in Trowbridge and forms part of an overall strategic masterplan to Trowbridge Town Centre. The siting of the building provides a direct connection to St Stephens Place on the opposite side of the River Biss and is this is further reinforced by the construction of a new footbridge linking the two sites together.
A new ‘Eleventh Church of Christ, Scientist London’ with 60 seat auditorium, ‘Reading Room’/bookshop, Sunday school and supporting areas, as well as separate rental offices above; by converting and expanding a dilapidated former pub in the King’s Cross conservation area.
We were appointed Architect, Interior Designer, Project Manager and Contract Administrator.
Freehaus have collaborated with Benugo on their first venture with Topshop with the opening of a new food and beverage offer within their flagship store on Oxford Street, London.
Freehaus developed a unique design concept combining Benugo’s existing branding identity with the ephemeral architectural language of fashion and catwalks.
The Zig Zag Building replaces a 1950s office block with exemplary new office space. Colonnades at various scales indicate and define the entrances to the various different types of accommodation housed within the broader scope of our project e.g. offices, housing, restaurants, shops, bars, etc. Situated between a cathedral and a town hall on Victoria Street, the design seeks to mediate between these two in terms of size and scale and to establish a credible and pleasurable urban spatial order connecting together the grain of this part of Westminster.
