The existing conversion was inappropriate for the clients needs whose brief called for the refurbishment of the existing house with the provision of new home working facilities for their artistic activities. Taking advantage of the large garden with long views, we proposed a new garden room linked to the house by a covered link. This new space provides a tranquil living area and working space away from the busy street-front house, with a new landscaped courtyard created between the two elements. Comprehensive refurbishment of the existing house will create a clean, modern interior and includes improvements to reduce running costs and increase thermal performance.
