We are pleased to confirm we have received your submission and we will be in touch once the client has made their decision.
The client purchased the house because of the large south facing the rear garden. Logically everything was about the garden – to incorporate it as much as possible into everyday life.
The challenge was to re-organise the ground floor layout with the new extension to establish a connection between the existing parts of the house and the new open plan area. The client also wanted a private space in the loft with a view of the garden.
Using Permitted Development Rights we designed a rear ground floor extension and a large loft extension. To bring light into the building, we introduced a number of large full-height windows on the upper floors.
We planned the ground floor extension to accommodate an open plan kitchen and living area with a full view of the garden.
We developed a separate design with a distinct feel for spaces used by guests and private ones. For guest spaces, we went for a club-like style with dark colours and sparkling finishes. We designed the garden-facing areas in light shades with a few bold accents.
For the private areas on the upper floors, we chose a more neutral but still modern composition, focusing on light, warm colours and using natural materials and soft fabrics. The large window in the master bedroom allows for falling asleep and waking up in full view of the garden, creating peace and tranquillity.
