West Port & Company is a RIBA chartered architecture practice based in London. We focus on providing a professional service and delivering high-quality buildings and places. Through our architecture we always strive to make positive contributions to our shared social and natural environments.

West Port & Company was founded by 3 partners who met in 2006 as architectural undergraduates studying in Edinburgh. Following their time in Scotland they parted to work in some of the most renowned architecture practices here in the UK and overseas. When their paths aligned once more in 2016, West Port & Company was formed.

We strongly value our team?s long relationship, international and interdisciplinary experience. We believe that it is this combination, alongside our passion for the work we do, that allows us to develop uniquely insightful and adaptable ways of thinking, communicating and realising design.

Set within the Pimlico conservation area, this conversion of a 5-storey Victorian townhouse involves the creation of 4-bedrooms (3 en-suite), a reception room with adjoining dining room and kitchen at ground floor, an office at first and a guest bedroom, bathroom and a large family living room at lower ground.

The Big Bothy, Isle of Skye

The Big Bothy is the nickname given to our design for the 400sqm hub building, forming a central part of a wider boutique hotel development on the outskirts of the town of Portree, Isle of Skye.

The term ‘Bothy’ is a traditional Scottish word, historically used to describe the small cottages found dotted across the rocky landscapes of the Highlands which served as both stores for farm labourers and short-term refuges for travellers seeking respite from the harsh winter climate of Northern Scotland.

The project is an extension (side return) that will incorporate a new kitchen, dining space and snug space. The reconfigured rear will also include a new ground floor bathroom. The project is a single-storey side extension to a ground floor property in a 1950s ex-council apartment building. The project is situated in Hampstead's Mansfield conservation area.

The property, 29 Mackeson Road, is a mid-century 1950s terrace hemmed in by late 19th century Victorian terraces on the west side of the street. Thessaly Railway Bridge

Following our Stage 2 short-listing, and in response to London Festival of Architecture's call for improvements to the Thessaly Railway Bridge underpass in Wandsworth, we proposed the tallest periscope in London at the Ascalon St. entrance of the underpass, balanced by a Camera Obscura/Kaleidoscope at the St. George’s School entrance. These powerful markers were to be combined with tiled friezes by fine artist, Mary Evans, within the underpass and complimented by enhanced lighting, elegant decorative tile accents and a sequence of directional floor markers between Ascalon St. and Corunna St.

An 88-bedroom student housing scheme in Winchester, Hampshire. The site lies south of the city centre and is bounded to its west by the University of Winchester’s main campus. Recently granted planning, we worked closely with local authorities and the wider design team to put forward a project that sensitively negotiates its part suburban, part urban setting.
