Established in 1993 Azman Architects built a reputation through remodelling private homes, cafes and creating the flagship store for the British designer Alexander McQueen.
The 'concrete house', a private home in London, was awarded with a RIBA Award as well as a Civic Trust Award in 2003.
In 2003 the practice won commissions with Victoria and Albert Museum, Barbican Gallery completing exhibitions including a retrospective for Vivienne Westwood.
The practice won a competition for a members café Royal Institute of British Architects in 2005 . which was described by Amanda Bailllieu, the editor of RIBA Journal, as "what better advertisement for architecture than a project that is not simply an elegant transformation of the space, but is also on time and on budget".
The strength of the practice lies with creating timeless bespoke residences and spaces with attention to detail and close knowledge of building costs and programme. The spaces created are not replicas of trends but individual homes reflecting context and brief.
The projects practice has completed have been widely recognised and published.
In 2007 the practice was named in the next generation award index of best practices by the Architecture Foundation.
