Sarah Featherstone ad Jeremy Young.
Sarah is an architect and Director of Featherstone Young. She has designed projects in the housing, community, cultural, education and commercial sectors. In 2008 she was awarded The Atkins Inspire Outstanding Achiever in Architecture and her practice have been Finalists in BD Architect of the Year Awards and Architecture Foundation’s Next Generation Award. Specific built projects include The Dellow Centre for the homeless in London, Ty Hedfan, a new build house in Wales and SERICC Crisis Centre in Thurrock and all of which have won RIBA awards, with the former two buildings being Finalists for the Stephen Lawrence Award.
Sarah studied architecture at Kingston University, The Architectural Association and the Bartlett, UCL. She teaches at Central St Martins and has been a visiting critic at various UK architecture schools. Sarah was a member of the CABE National Design Review Panel for 4 years and has been an External Examiner at a number of schools including London Metropolitan University, the Bartlett UCL and Oxford Brookes. She is also a Civic Trust Award assessor, RIBA Awards 2008 Judge/Jury Chair, member of the Camden Design Awards Panel and for 4 years a RIBA President's Research Awards Assessor.
Jeremy is an architect and co-Director of Featherstone Young. He studied architecture at the University of Cambridge. Prior to joining the practice, Jeremy worked as an Associate for 7 years at Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, where amongst other projects he was the project architect for the award-winning new build public realm improvement works for the Barbican Arts Centre. He has a wide-ranging experience of complex project types including large-scale housing, commercial and public realm. At Featherstone Young he is currently overseeing several residential and mixed-use projects including the recently completed Waddington Studios in North London.
