Angela Brady

Angela is a Dublin born and educated architect who graduated from Dublin DIT school of architecture, completing with a post graduate scholarship at Kunstakademiet in Copenhagen, then spent a year in Toronto, before coming to London to set up award winning private practice Brady Mallalieu Architects Ltd, with Robin Mallalieu. Their design studio specialises in contemporary sustainable architecture

Angela was elected President of Royal Institute of British Architects (2011-2013) She reaches a wide public audience as a professional TV broadcaster, promoting Architecture on TV and Radio, along with with published articles in books, magazines and blogs as well as running design workshops in schools and galleries as a STEMnet ambassador

Personal awards include; The Lifetime Achievement for ‘Women In Construction’ 2012; and The “WISE women of outstanding achievement” for leadership and inspiration 2013 and The Irish Post/AIB Bank Award for personal achievement in architecture; Awarded Honorary Fellowship of the RIAS; RIAI; IStructE, BIID; RSA; Soc Env; Honorary Fellowship and Presidents’ medal from both AIA in USA, and RIAC in Canada, and an Honorary Diploma from Russian architects Institute and PhD(Hon) honorary doctorate for DIT Dublin school of architecture 2011

She was an active member of many influential committees including RIAI Council; Chair RIAI London Forum; CABE / English Heritage Urban Panel; Architects for Change; Vice Chair Civic Trust Awards; Trustee Building Exploratory Hackney, and Design Champion of London Development Agency Board

Robin Mallalieu

Robin Mallalieu gained wide experience in London for 30 years. Prior to commencing in private practice with Angela Brady he worked in London and was an associate with both van Heyningen and Haward and Brian Taggart Associates

Robin has worked on a variety of projects including award winning buildings as Phoenix Heights and a new build private home in Richmond and has developed a particular interest in historic buildings He has developed an expertise in the design of new contemporary sustainable buildings within historical and protected environments. He also maintains an expertise in urban design and master planning

Robin is skilled in creating environmentally friendly and sustainable designs and promotes low energy / low carbon / low maintenance buildings. He also has an expertise in masterplanning and urban design

His contemporary house design in Richmond was featured on BBC1 London Tonight where it was praised by presenter Max Hutchinson as 'one of the best contemporary houses in Britain today'. It was runner up for the RIBA Manser Prize 2004 "Best Home in Britain". The 200 homes Phoenix Heights project at Mastmaker Rd London E14 Isle of Dogs won "Best New Development - Affordable Homes" - Evening Standard Award and RIAI Award with Ballymore Group in 2010
