Location: Hampstead, London
Project Year: 2010
Cost: N/AOver the years this 5-storey end of terrace Victorian town house, in the heart of the Hampstead Conservation area, and overlooking Hampstead Heath, became idiosyncratically subdivided into a number of flats for different family members. In the process, the overall circulation throughout the house became convoluted and totally irrational. BWA successfully gained planning permission for raising the side extension, in order to accommodate a new top lit staircase that now serves all the main floors, and for enclosing a roof terrace to create an extra bedroom in the attic.
